Support Links

The Support Links project aims to improve migrants’ access to information about support organisations and resources in Okayama. Through several of the Institute’s surveys and interviews with migrant residents, it became evident that there was a lack of a multilingual centralised list of local third-sector and volunteer organisations supporting migrants. On our site, support organisations and resources are categorised into three main sections: Study support, Health and Welfare, and Legal and Labour. Each organisation listed on the site is accompanied by contact information, consultation languages and topics offered. The descriptions, particularly for Legal and Labour, also specify which organisations are safe for individuals who have lost their Status of Residence to contact. With content available in eight languages, including Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, Vietnamese, and Indonesian (with Burmese soon to be added), the site aims to be accessible to migrants living in Okayama and hopefully contribute to their access to local support.
